SPRING SESSION 2015

BLOGPOST #1,615 AT THE AICP-END

Liberalism has sadly demolished the once Beautiful State of California…
Bakersfield, CA, 04-24-2015 Friday: It breaks my heart when I come to California from the islands because MY state and the Golden State have some similar concerns when it comes to providing fresh water, energy, and food to its growing population.  Many who live in the islands believe we are at a tipping point when we will no longer be able to absorb people from abroad because local folks’ birth rates continue to increase more than anyone predicted in the past.  I know that between 1995 and 2015—two decades—the influx of people coming here has increased so much that sugar cane, pineapple, and other crops rapidly diminish so that outsiders do not see the things people once expected to see the moment they stepped off the airplane.  Both Maui and Oahu have seen a dramatic decrease in sugar production—something that once employed many locals--because of an increase in the building of family homes.  Virtually every city, town, and settlement on the two islands and on Kauai and even the Big Island has seen population increases, which at some point, one would think would stop.
Like California, Hawaii is losing Agricultural Production…
As with California, people who have grown up and lived their lives on the islands recognize the problem with diminishing resources and the cost of having to ship everything in from the Mainland.  Sure, we have local beef, poultry, produce but many of the things folks living in the lower forty-eight take for granted, we have to bring in via Matson shipping barges that bring everything from imported oil to Cheerios to us.  If you think the cost of oil on the global market is high, then you can imagine how much higher it is here in Oahu and Maui.  When the barges come over, they make stops at Hilo and Kawaihai on the Big Island, then at Kahului on Maui, Honolulu on Oahu, and then Nawillili on Kauai.  Many times things come into Oahu and then from there, smaller vessels carry them over to Maui, Molokai, and Lanai, increasing the cost of everything at each stop.
…as we become the Number One Vacation Destination…
One of the things we must do to produce energy is to continue expanding to renewable sources of energy as living on islands located in the middle of the Pacific, that is all that truly makes sense for us.  We have increases solar, wind, and geothermal production while still using oil and petroleum products for the time being.  We think that with the level of volcanic activity in the islands that in the end, geothermal power production—a gift from the Hawaiian gods--will be the life-sustaining source of affordable energy as are solar, wind, and other forms of power such as biomass.  The only thing we do not favor is nuclear power and coal-burning plants are definitely outdated.  Still, the demand for energy increases every year and at some point, hard decisions will come from state and federal administrators as to how many people we will be able to absorb.  We have a God-given mandate to take care of our own and to control how many people from the Mainland and elsewhere in the world will be able to come here and become permanent residents.
At some Point, we will hit the Limit as to how many People can make their home here…
As you see, we struggle with our problems in Hawaii in much the same way, as do other states; however, California seems to be a special case of sorts and all I can say is that I am glad I do not live here.  We have GOOD state government unlike the Golden State, what with legislators and senators who listen to the people and do their best to help them.  Sure, our government works in communion with the environmental groups but the alliance does not seek to cripple our standard of living, as your crackpot governor, Jerry Brown, seems to want to do.  I have never seen someone such as that pathetic old fool who is as willing as is he to crush the population of the state simply because he seems to be little more than a bitter old coot who wants his high-speed rail fiasco for whatever insane reason.  The man’s legacy is going to be one of cow crap thanks to his inability and that of the state’s politicians to disengage from the play toy to the real problem and that is storing and providing water to the citizens, farms, and businesses of the state.
If your State’s Policies are correct, you do not need to continue importing Illegal Aliens into your state to keep government in power…
What can California do to save its diminishing position as one of the top states in the nation?  Well, to Governor Jerry Brown, I would say that liberalism has to come to terms with common sense.  That is right, folks, when a state government forfeits its ability to make the right decisions to support its people—namely to begin deporting those that are a drag on the economy of the once golden, now tarnished state—then the ruling junta deserves what it gets.  It deserves precisely what it gets because if Sacramento’s policies are correct, you do not need to maintain an ever-growing population of illegal aliens to keep you in power.  Sure, we have illegals here in Hawaii—especially the relocated illegal alien children, folks we did not want but took in because of WHO the president is—but not to the point of disaster that the lolos in the state’s capital have allowed in—what is wrong with sanity in the dying state of California?
Yes, we have Illegals living in Hawaii—most of them come but then go except for the Obama Children…

As always, we have a great time around here and that is why we want all of you to become a part of the organization by submitting articles to us for inspection and full-credit.  It is a great thing if you would do this, as it is a symbiotic relationship: we give you the space to share your recipes and in return, you send us more and more people who will become dedicated followers of the AICP-END.  Currently of multi-diversity across the Internet, it is important that we hear the voices of more and more people from all walks of the foodservice profession —join us. We urge our readership to write to us, leave comments, and if there are any of you, who would care to write an article for us, please get in touch via Magnolia Hilltop Brewers, P.O. Box 20669, Bakersfield, CA 93390-0669.  We obviously do not pay anything but give YOU full byline and that, my friends, is worth its weight in gold.  We want as many people who want to write to be able to do so and we believe that by presenting a forum for our fellow chefs, we are doing something for our beloved industry.  We love diversity and hope to add new and different authors to our pantheon of chefs, food and beverage directors, and culinary professionals.  Come on and join us, it will be fun! Expect that when all of us have run through our cycle, we will be introducing some brand-new talent or so Stinky says.
THIS WAS NOW ’74-‘98
We have touted the AARC Technology Company here in Bakersfield, CA, and must add the Nerds on Call.com folks.  Without them keeping our blog up-and-running, there is no telling where we would be now.  We have a great many problematic issues here at the AICP-END because even with the best security systems in the world, malware and other terrible fecal materials manage to penetrate the blog site.  Do yourself a favor, hire the best, and note, you can have online help via a remote button on your desktop for just $25 per month!  Get in contact with the Nerds now!  Here is another note: do NOT do business with Galkos Construction, Inc., those people are nothing but crooks as if you lease your system, you will never pay it off, plus you have to pay them for excess energy produced by your system, the electric company does not buy all of it nor do they!  AVOID GCI AT ALL COSTS; DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CROOKS!
ONE MORE TIME—LIVE IN UTRECHT, NETHERLANDS 1992

GO MY WAY
I know after today, I will not have any friends in California state government but what the heck—it is the women’s prerogative to speak her mind regardless of whether or not it causes men stress.  One thing I can tell you for sure, how a retread like Governor Jerry Brown got TWO more chances after already having been governor twice before is beyond a simpleton such as me.  What I do know is that many of us living in Hawaii view California as a very crooked place where everything seems to go against the grain of what is right and what is not instead of seeking to move in harmony with nature.  We, the people of the Aloha State, will definitely work through our problems but they will never include a boondoggle such as high-speed rail that most of us know the majority of the people do NOT want.  That in itself tells me there is a whole lot of crooked politics going on, something we do not permit here in Hawaii and never will.  People of California: throw the bums out and save yourselves or host the Mexican flag—yikes, did that come from me?  See you tomorrow, aloha, aloha.
CLASSIC TRACKS AND RARITIES
The Closing Words of our Founder, Stinkbug:
Anyhow, let us close with this impassioned plea—please leave some comments and/or become a follower. What's more, why not spend some money and purchase an album by Procol Harum, Robin Trower, Gary Brooker, Matthew Fisher, James Dewar, and everyone else we advertise here and/or buy a book by any of the authors we advertise here! In addition to that, we occasionally offer cookbooks and other oddball items so always pay attention to whatever you find in the tabs on the right side of the home page, everything you need is there!  Allied with them, we are pleased to market their merchandise!  Amazon.com is one of the greatest—if not the ultimate greatest!—online department stores in which, one can find almost everything on the planet.  We love them and they love us and we want all of you to visit them daily, take advantage of their deals on everything from kitchen equipment to cookbooks, CDs, DVDs, and everything else a person could want.  Everything you buy from them puts money into our pockets, which allows us to keep this fine blog up-and-running 24/7/365!  God bless America and God bless Amazon.com, the world’s largest online marketplace in the world and most likely in the Universe!
Thanks, my friends!

This is a photo of me back in the 1980’s when I was working at a hotel in Honolulu, HI, on Waikiki Beach.  I began my career in the early 1970’s when I apprenticed to cook under one of the masters on the Big Island where I was born.  I moved to Oahu in the early 1980’s after having worked in both Kona and Hilo, HI, and have been there for most of my professional career.  I have also worked on Maui for a few years (1995-1998) and have been on Kauai (2001-2003) before returning to Honolulu.  My goal is to prepare the next generation of chefs for the future and to help the underprivileged in their struggle to attain careers in the foodservice industry.

  1. Chef Cheryl discusses the efforts made by politicians in Hawaii to improve the living standards of the population even though we have seen increases in the number of people living here or relocating here. Water resources, energy resources, here in Hawaii, we work hard to build power for a growing 21st Century as well as protecting and locating new sources of potable water. We do this while the people in California—who had warnings a long time ago—dawdle about until major environmental disasters loom before them. California sacrifices common sense fixes to build the lolo train of Governor Jerry Brown, something not a single politician would approve if we had the ability to build something like it here. By the time, the great people of California wake up and see the crooks they continue electing to protect them have sold them out, there will be mass political devastation as liberals become conservatives and illegal aliens begin leaving for home. She feels sad for the once-great, now-s—t state of California.
