“Political Topics and Essays, Part CDIX: Gervais discusses the Upcoming Bakersfield Rock & Country, Music and Art Festival at Pioneer Village in Bakersfield, California on May 23, 2015—it is going to be a Major Cluster-F—k!” by Chef Gervais Krinkelmeier

The next CD by Robin Trower, “In the Line of Fire,” came out in 1990 and brings out both the best and the worst in its listeners.  As we have mentioned, musicians and bands need to change in order to keep up with the times.  They lose musical collaborators along the way such as Mr. Dewar from Trower’s original band but gain new and up-to-date talent into their band.  We have to face the fact that had Jimi Hendrix not died nor Jim Morrison that the former would be quite different as would the Doors if they were still with us today.  Time changes musicians and they adapt with the times or they fall by the wayside, becoming oldies acts playing county fairs.  Note, there is nothing wrong with bands playing local fairs, it is what it is, but generally they play the OLD hits while here, Mr. Trower attempts to prove there is life after success.  Please seek this CD out by going to Amazon.com and picking it up in the format, the condition, and the price that makes you sing—you will be glad you did!

SPRING SESSION 2015

BLOGPOST #1,602 AT THE AICP-END

The Bakersfield Rock & Country, Music & Art Festival of May 23, 2015
Bakersfield, CA, 04-11-2015 Saturday: A few weeks ago, my wife and I came down from Frazier Park, California, where we live and work to attend the first Bright House concert of the season, the Atlanta Rhythm Section.  I saw the ARS back in the 1970s when they had hit-after-hit on AM radio and boy, they did not disappoint with one exception.  The vocalist suffering from a sore throat and hoarseness did his best to keep the vocals as close as possible to their original hits but over the course of the evening, it got pretty tough.  It is sad sometimes when ‘the show must go on’ because if one is sick, they should be able to reschedule the concert or to refund the tickets to their fans.  Still, the music was great and the band sounded as good as ever.  If you have the opportunity to see them this summer, take some time and do so, they are a great band.
The Organizers of this Music Fest must be out of their Flipping Minds!
This Memorial Day here in Bakersfield, California, we are going to have a ‘rock festival’ of sorts at our Museum, the famous Pioneer Village on Chester Avenue south of the Oildale bridge.  Billed as “California’s Premiere One Day Music Festival,” the promoters hope to draw a crowd of thousands to hear more than ‘fifty performing acts on seven stages including thirty-four award-winning national recording acts.  These artists collectively sold over one billion records.  These are living legends, icons, and contemporary greats from the country, classic rock, oldies, and rhythm and blues genres.’
Chester Avenue North of the Traffic Circle is going to be a Disaster!
Anyone who knows the area knows this is going to be a massive cluster-fuck if ever there was one.  First, most of these acts are well past their prime, which is fine, so was the ARS, we went to see them perform but some, are WAY past their prime and ticket prices being in the multiple hundreds of dollars, outdoors in an already warm spring and summer, it is going to be rough.  Seven stages in a relatively small area is going to mean sound from one act is going to corrupt that of another and with the music beginning early in the day and going into the night, well, it is going to be long, confusingly loud, and not worth the trouble of the natives to attend.
Here are some of the Acts:
Let me tell you who is going to play: Leann Rimes, Kellie Pickler, Ricky Skaggs, Clay Walker, Gloriana, Eddie Money, Lou Gramm “the Voice of Foreigner,” John Kay and Steppenwolf, Chubby Checker and the Wildcats, Starship featuring Mickey Thomas, and BJ Thomas.  Add to them the following: Jim Messina, Herman’s Hermits featuring Peter Noone, Asleep at the Wheel, Little River Band, Pam Tillis, Juice Newton, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, Mitch Ryder, Ambrosia, Stephen Bishop, Jose Feliciano, Brenda K. Starr, and Denny Laine formerly of both the Moody Blues and Wings.
Here are the Rest of the Acts:
Other performing acts include the following: Badfinger’s Joey Molland, John Ford Coley of England Dan and John Ford Coley, Terry Sylvester of the Hollies, Mike Pinera (formerly of Iron Butterfly, Blues Image, and Captain Beyond). In addition to those artists, Robbie Dupree, Shirley Alston Reeves (former lead singer of the Shirelles), Ron Dante of the Archies and the Cufflinks, Bo Donaldson & the Heywoods, Chris Montez, and Kathy Young are coming, too.
There will be another 50 Local Acts performing as well…
Add to that another 50 minor or local acts and you have a massive day of musical acts, all intruding upon one another in a place that is going to be hotter than hell, and where the cops will be hovering around outside waiting every intoxicated guest stumbling into their cars.  With ticket prices beginning at $165, the promoters are hoping for a great turnout and with “Golden Circle” Preferred Seats at $250 per stage or $425 for all stages, in Bakersfield, California, you are not going to see that much of an attendance.  Sure, we might get some out-of-towners coming but nothing like what the promoters hope for or expect are going to show up, especially if the hotel rooms are tied up for other functions happening in and around town at the same time.
Unless you have the Money and the Time, AVOID this Concert at ALL Costs

BACK IT UP
As always, we have a great time around here and that is why we want all of you to become a part of the organization by submitting articles to us for inspection and full-credit.  It is a great thing if you would do this, as it is a symbiotic relationship: we give you the space to share your recipes and in return, you send us more and more people who will become dedicated followers of the AICP-END.  Currently of multi-diversity across the Internet, it is important that we hear the voices of more and more people from all walks of the foodservice profession —join us. We urge our readership to write to us, leave comments, and if there are any of you, who would care to write an article for us, please get in touch via Magnolia Hilltop Brewers, P.O. Box 20669, Bakersfield, CA 93390-0669.  We obviously do not pay anything but give YOU full byline and that, my friends, is worth its weight in gold.  We want as many people who want to write to be able to do so and we believe that by presenting a forum for our fellow chefs, we are doing something for our beloved industry.  We love diversity and hope to add new and different authors to our pantheon of chefs, food and beverage directors, and culinary professionals.  Come on and join us, it will be fun! Expect that when all of us have run through our cycle, we will be introducing some brand-new talent or so Stinky says.

BEYOND THE MIST

ECHOES IN THE NIGHT
We have touted the AARC Technology Company here in Bakersfield, CA, and must add the Nerds on Call.com folks.  Without them keeping our blog up-and-running, there is no telling where we would be now.  We have a great many problematic issues here at the AICP-END because even with the best security systems in the world, malware and other terrible fecal materials manage to penetrate the blog site.  Do yourself a favor, hire the best, and note, you can have online help via a remote button on your desktop for just $25 per month!  Get in contact with the Nerds now!  Here is another note: do NOT do business with Galkos Construction, Inc., those people are nothing but crooks as if you lease your system, you will never pay it off, plus you have to pay them for excess energy produced by your system, the electric company does not buy all of it nor do they!  AVOID GCI AT ALL COSTS; DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CROOKS!
PASSION
We are selling recipes all the time and you can order things you would like copies of simply by mailing us your name, address, the recipe you would like and a check for $1.00.  You can buy an entire week’s worth of recipes when we do a series simply by sending us a check or money order (no cash please!) for $20 and we will have it out to you in the next day’s mail.  Please become a part of the AICP-END by sending us your names, addresses, and information and we will welcome all of you with open arms!
TAKE WHAT YOU NEED
To buy paintings, recipes, or full article series, please send us your information by mailing us at P.O. Box #20669, Bakersfield, CA, 93309-0669.  You can call about paintings at 661-374-1430; we will take all calls and provide to you as much information as is available.  It is time that we begin taking the next step and to immortalize Beverly Carrick for eternity and begin moving towards the establishment of a website of our own! God bless each single one of you amongst our fan base!
NO STOPPING ANYTIME
I would love to see some of the acts but there is no frigging way in hell that I will put myself or my wife into a situation such as the Bakersfield Festival as it is going to be hot, loud, no place to sit, and the cost of snacks, beverages, and mementos is going to be through the roof.  We are hoping that some of the acts will return as this will be the third time Starship with Mickey Thomas has performed here in the past two years.  Other acts such as the Little River Band, I saw several times back in the 1970s with the original lineup whereas now, there is not a single original member. I do not mind seeing a TRIBUTE band, that is fine but they need to call themselves the Little River Tribute Band, not the LRB.  Anyhow, the ad in the paper last week said that after April 15, the ticket prices are going to go UP whereas I already think that for the talent, the place, and the time, it is too fricking problematic now, NO way I am going and anyone with any sense should either.  If you are interested, look at REFERENCES and I will give you the contact information.  Thanks, I will see you all tomorrow. Bye!
IN THE LINE OF FIRE
The Closing Words of our Founder, Stinkbug:
Anyhow, let us close with this impassioned plea—please leave some comments and/or become a follower. What's more, why not spend some money and purchase an album by Procol Harum, Robin Trower, Gary Brooker, and everyone else we advertise here and/or buy a book by any of the authors we advertise here! In addition to that, we occasionally offer cookbooks and other oddball items so always pay attention to whatever you find in the tabs on the right side of the home page, everything you need is there!  Allied with them, we are pleased to market their merchandise!  Amazon.com is one of the greatest—if not the ultimate greatest!—online department stores in which, one can find almost everything on the planet.  We love them and they love us and we want all of you to visit them daily, take advantage of their deals on everything from kitchen equipment to cookbooks, CDs, DVDs, and everything else a person could want.  Everything you buy from them puts money into our pockets, which allows us to keep this fine blog up-and-running 24/7/365!  God bless America and God bless Amazon.com!
Thanks, my friends!

  1. Chef Gervais discusses the upcoming rock concert disaster that is taking place in Bakersfield on May 23, 2015, at Pioneer Village. The concert promoters say they are bringing 50 top acts plus 50 local acts, groups that will perform on one of seven stages throughout the festival area. General admission tickets begin at $165 meaning one has to stand to see the shows in the beginning of the Kern County blazing hot summer. If you want to get in the Golden Circle guests meaning you get a seat, tickets for ONE stage begin at $250 and for all seven stages hit $425. After April 15, the prices go up, which means most people will be unable to attend the show and probably only outside folks can come and afford the cost of hotel rooms, meals, and yes, paying bail to get the heck out of the KC Jail when the cops pull you over for being intoxicated. We love music but this is ONE show we cannot get behind and promote as it is going to be a monumental disaster, folks. Therefore, we say God help the attendees and God help the promoters because they will go belly-up on this show and in the hot sun of the area, they will be stinking to high heaven.
