“Political Topics and Essays, Part Three: Immigration, the Bracero Program, Obamacare, and the Middle East are the Topics of the Day” by Hector Santanamos

Illegal Aliens, Marching demanding RIGHTS
Bakersfield, CA, 01-15-2014 Wednesday: The past two days we discussed things in regard to immigration and the future of the Democrat Party—my party, to be sure!  The immigration issue is one that causes many people a great deal of concern because they think that the southern border is wide open and that nothing but low-educated, low-income workers pour across it intermixed with drug criminals, terrorists, and human traffickers.   We know that back in the 1940’s through the 1960’s that the Bracero Program worked and worked very well whereas now, there is no program and once people come here, they tend to remain and assimilate into a sub-level of society and never into the main one.   I guess that much of this true and it makes one wonder as to WHY Congress—in all its infinite wisdom!—cannot either repair the old system or make the present one work in a way in which, all of us feel assured that the nation is okay.  We want to know that those who (1) leech off the system and (2) take the jobs from those who want them are not inundating the nation with a nonstop barrage of flesh.  We know that with the advent of Obamacare, many Americans have had their hours cut back to 29 or less as employers seek a way in which, they, too, can keep their heads above the water.  This should cause every single one of us a great deal of fear and yet, the Democrats and their RINO allies could care less about making things work for ALL Americans.
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act
I know that as an employer, as someone who hires and fires individuals with the purposes of either employing them if they have the qualities I want or letting them go if they fail to meet my basic standards, people ask me questions almost daily.  I make no bones about my party affiliation but I want to have an open door policy to all of my employees and could care less what their political beliefs are as long as they do not try to shove them onto others unwilling to listen to them. As we all know, President Obama gave us a year’s respite from having to meet the requirements of the Affordable Care Act, which is great for employers but not for the employees as they all had to scramble in search of their own healthcare if other bosses through their health care plans out the window to cut costs.  We saw the mad rush both prior to October 01, 2013, and then after more than five million Americans suddenly found themselves without healthcare coverage while others signed up and it went nowhere.  The crash of the healthcare.gov website harmed all of us and what’s more, it weakened our arguments on virtually everything else that is important to the Democrats.  We saw how unequipped and incapable the administration reacted to the crises of people losing healthcare and for others such as cancer patients suddenly losing their medical practitioners who had helped them through their own problems.  We saw Harry Reid, declaring during the Federal government shutdown that the lives of cancer-stricken children were not as important as union members in Las Vegas, Nevada, the place Senator Reid represents.  We cannot keep suffering hit after hit to an administration already ravaged by more scandals than either the George W. Bush Administration or the Ronald Reagan one.  Granted, we have the power of a doting media but at some point, one has to wonder when they will begin to look after their own interests?  I mean, once the media loses all credibility, no one will pay them any attention anymore and that is bad ultimately for their business!
President Ronald Reagan
This is what I think about the immigration issue: we can reinstitute the Bracero Program in a new and more equitable way.  As a Latino, I do not like to see policies that seem to smack of racism and discrimination and the way this country treats Latinos is shameful and needs to be corrected.  We ask these people to come here and toil away at jobs that most American citizens will never do and then we abuse and take advantage of them.  At the same time, however, we need to have more control of who’s coming across the southern border because at some point, a terrorist will manage to come across and launch a WMD attack of one kind or another.  Once that happens, NO one will be allowed across the border and certainly no more Latinos, which is a harsh punishment for those already here.  We need to set up a system in which, everyone is documented as they cross into the United States and before they do, background checks in both the U.S. and in Latin America must be conducted before they are granted the opportunity to stay.  People must work up the ladder to citizenship and it should take far longer than what it takes those who come here in the legal, traditional way as to do it more quickly is a slap in their face.
Illegal Alien Woman praying to God for Help
Now, the other issue is this: the Federal government must step in and it MUST enforce the immigration laws as otherwise, the states will take over the duty abrogated by the U.S. government.  At some point, the states will overwhelm the ability of the Justice Department to go after each of them and then states’ rights proponents will step into the void and maybe with the aid of the American Civil Liberties Union and other such organizations manage to fight back against the government.  I hurt whenever I read of deaths caused by illegal aliens because I realize that every American, black and white, yellow or red looks at ALL Latinos as if we are one and the same, which simply is not true.  We do not want drunken drivers hitting our wives or kids and leaving them to die in the streets, we want the same amount of control that every other American of whatever color wants and ONLY the Federal government can deliver that.  We want law and order, an orderly and fair immigration system and everyone who comes across the border needs to spend twenty years going back and forth every single year until they begin to qualify for U.S. citizenship.  No other nation in the world has an immigration system such as ours, one that is messed up and needs immediate fixes, no, no other nation is as messed up as we are!
American Civil Liberties Union
Anyhow, we need to accomplish a lot if we are going to have any hope in November.  I urge the old-time Democrats to stand up to the plate and to put the politics of division, of racism, and all other negatives behind us.  We are ALL Americans and we can be a unified nation once again but it is going to take all of us working together to make it so.  You know it, I know it, we all know it and we can make it work once again, trust me, we have been here before.  America is a very special place and it is one built upon capitalism, a fair and equitable system that generally rewards one for sweat equity they put into their jobs.  I think in this respect that government should govern less and then help those who fall through the cracks.  WE will continue this discussion again tomorrow.
President Barack Obama

As always, we have a great time around here and that is why we want all of you to become a part of the organization by submitting articles to us for inspection and full-credit.  It is a great thing if you would do this, as it is a symbiotic relationship: we give you the space to share your recipes and in return, you send us more and more people who will become dedicated followers of the AICP-END.  Currently of multi-diversity across the Internet, it is important that we hear the voices of more and more people from all walks of the foodservice profession —join us. We urge our readership to write to us, leave comments, and if there are any of you, who would care to write an article for us, please get in touch via Magnolia Hilltop Brewers, P.O. Box 20669, Bakersfield, CA 93390-0669.  We obviously do not pay anything but give YOU full byline and that, my friends, is worth its weight in gold.  We want as many people who want to write to be able to do so and we believe that by presenting a forum for our fellow chefs, we are doing something for our beloved industry.  We love diversity and hope to add new and different authors to our pantheon of chefs, food and beverage directors, and culinary professionals.  Come on and join us, it will be fun! EXPERIENCE HENDRIX: THE BEST OF JIMI HENDRIX
We have touted the AARC Technology Company here in Bakersfield, CA, and must add the Nerds on Call.com folks.  Without them keeping our blog up-and-running, there is no telling where we would be now.  We have a great many problematic issues here at the AICP-END because even with the best security systems in the world, malware and other terrible fecal materials manage to penetrate the blogsite.  Do yourself a favor, hire the best, and note, you can have online help via a remote button on your desktop for just $25 per month!  Get in contact with the Nerds now!  Here’s another note: do NOT do business with Galkos Construction, Inc., those people are nothing but crooks as if you lease your system, you will never pay it off, plus you have to pay them for excess energy produced by your system, the electric company does not buy all of it nor do they!  AVOID GCI AT ALL COSTS; DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CROOKS!

HENDRIX IN THE WEST
LIVE AT BERKELEY, CALIFORNIA 1970
I would like to mention something that seems to be quite ironic and that is the present mess going on in Iraq what with the al-Qaida folks taking over the western cities of Fallujah and Ramadi, cities over which, Americans shed a great deal of blood.  The Obama Administration has promised them aid but NO boots on the ground, which is something I must admit, I favor.  I think the Iraq War was a big mistake and while I think I understand WHY the Bush Administration launched it, there is no way in hell we could ever change the face of the Middle East.  What goes on over there has gone on for centuries and will continue going on over there until one side destroys the other.  I also understand that we have commitments to Israel and Jordan and that we should continue to honor them while at the same time attempting to somehow make us look less ‘evil’ in the eyes of those who hate us so maybe we could establish some sort of a dialogue!  I will see you all tomorrow, have a great day and be sure to buy some of the things we advertise so we can keep our blog up-and-running!

Stinkbug’s Closing:
Anyhow, let us close with this impassioned plea—please leave some comments and/or become a follower. What's more, why not spend some money and purchase an album by the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Jimi Hendrix, the Young Rascals, the Steve Miller Band, Hot Tuna, and everyone else we have advertised and/or buy a cookbook from Amazon.com—we want to make some money here so help us out by buying something!  Allied with them, we are pleased to market their merchandise!  Amazon.com is one of the greatest—if not the ultimate greatest!—online department stores in which, one can find almost everything on the planet.  We love them and they love us and we want all of you to visit them daily, take advantage of their deals on everything from kitchen equipment to cookbooks, CDs, DVDs, and everything else a person could want.  Everything you buy from them puts money into our pockets, which allows us to keep this fine blog up-and-running 24/7/365!  God bless America and God bless Amazon.com!
Muchas gracias, buen amigos!
