Family broke up at the end of 1973 and Roger Chapman and Charlie Whitney would form a new band called “Streetwalkers!” Prior to its release, they put out their ninth album—a ‘best of’ package entitled, “Best of Family,” which came out in 1974! This is a great introduction to this venerable English band so why not take the convenient link posted above, go to Amazon.com and buy it now.

Obama always wins against Straw Man Opponents!
Bakersfield, CA, 10-16-2013 Wednesday: “I was blind but now I see, so say me,” your host, Chef Olaf Bologolo!  At the time of this writing, we were smack dab in the midst of the federal government shutdown and one by one, we have watched this function shut down followed by another and then another and virtually all of them have been petty things.  They are shutdown so the Administration can repeatedly continue punching its straw man right in the guts all the while the media continues pumping their hands in the air for President Obama and his cohorts.  I think the media has kept me in oblivion for as long as I have because I normally get the bulk of my news from CBS, sometimes NBC and ABC, and quite often, CNN.  However, listening to more talk radio—primarily shows such as Jaz McKay here in Bakersfield, California, and also Rush Limbaugh and Mark Levin as mentioned yesterday—has been the catalyst that has opened my eyes wide open!   In all actuality, the work of my ears has opened my eyes to the world around me, and right now, I am beginning to feel like a fool, as though my head has been in the sand for far too long!   We are living in dangerous times and the more I listen to various groups demanding this right and that, the more I see it’s all a grand design to snooker the American people into going along with the Obama Plan.  It’s all about getting the citizenry to drink the Obama Kool-Aid, to open our mouths wide and to pour the foul-tasting stuff down our throats without a voice of reproach.  I cannot stomach this horrifying stuff anymore, I am beginning to see that all of the votes I have cast for Democrats over the forty or so years I have been a registered voter have led us to our present mess!
New York Congressman and Republican Peter King
The President is the one who has chosen what parts of the federal government he wants to shut down and almost everything he has chosen he has designed to make the average citizen mad, upset, or put out of shape so that he or she would go after the Republicans in the House and Senate.  Unfortunately, I think many people are beginning to wake up and smell the damned coffee and that is not good for the Democrats’ plans.  I realize there are some members in the House—compromised by the Democrats—such as Congressman Peter King because I wonder WHY this man now defends Obama and defies the Republicans.  I have heard other authors here discuss the possibility that maybe the Obamaists lurking undercover have compromised these once stalwart men and women who now troll the line for Obama on a variety of his issues.  I mean, look at Peter King, this man used to be a firebrand in the fight against ALL THINGS OBAMA and now, he is fighting against Ted Cruz, practically cursing him for leading the Republicans to fight against Obamacare.  I recall that he and many other Republican House and Senate members in the beginning ALL fought back against this overwhelming bill that now threatens the long-term economic success of this nation!  I am surprised at the amount of turncoats and the division in the Republican ranks because very seldom do you ever see Democrats stray from the party line.  Heck, look at me, I never strayed until now and the only reason I have finally awoken is because I see the diabolical intent of Obamacare: to subjugate the nation!
Texas Senator Ted Cruz
Once I saw the World War II veterans struggling to visit their war memorial in the early days of the federal government shutdown, I began investigating what was REALLY going on and what I saw, I did not like.  The more I looked into the reason for all of the insults flowing from one side to the other without any coming back, I looked some more.  Once I listened to the President claiming he was willing to negotiate but I am NOT going to negotiate with Republicans, I stood up and took a BIG note.  What is going on, I asked myself, why is there all of this rancor, this anger, this level of insults flowing from MY party but NOT from the other party?  Something was wrong because for the first time in my life, I felt ashamed of voting for the Democrats and asked myself, why did I support this party because I never felt like this about the opposition?   We really need to get a grip on what is going on in this country, we need to simmer down, find some common ground and negotiate with one another.  We need to be able to cross party lines on BOTH sides and not just have the President say he will and then turn around and kick the opposition in the ass.  This is NOT right, I know it, you know it, we ALL know it, please, we need to fix the nation and not hand deliver it over to the acolytes of Saul Alinsky.  I do NOT believe any of this is right, I believe in the America I learned about when I was a kid in back in the 1960’s, America was and is a good place and it deserves to be revered by its citizens, not subverted by leftists.
Noted Radical, Communist, and all-time Smuck, Saul Alinsky
I hope that we can somehow find common ground once again with which, to help this nation become the economic powerhouse it once was because if we do not, we are going to watch it slide into Third World status, you know, become an over-sized banana republic where we have constant political bickering back-and-forth.  Much of this I blame on the news media, the reason being because impartial they are NOT and have not been so for several decades.  We used to expect the media to vet all of our candidates before they could hold office but in this case, or since the days of William Jefferson Clinton onward, they have abrogated this fundamental obligation to the people of the nation.  Moreover, when it came to vetting the current occupant of the White House, the media totally absconded from its duty and allowed a man who had no pedigree for being president to become the chief executive.  I am telling you, nations lose their liberty when the press fails to do its job or worse, is in the tank for those who seek to destroy the country.  I realize that you are not used to hearing me speak like this but at some point, all of us must undergo divine enlightenment!
President William Jefferson Clinton
Today, our recipe is a delicious one, Sweet-and-Sour Pork as presented by Murph MacDougal on Monday, July 11, 2011 here at the blogsite!  I think everyone I know enjoys this dish and as Murph says in the opening lines of her recipe and one of the earliest, true Asian dishes she learned to make.  While some in the world curl their lips at the first smell of succulent pork, we tend to move those folks aside because let’s face it, this is an amazing dish, I know you are going to love it so here we go:
(#1187) SWEET-AND-SOUR PORK

This is one of the earliest Asian dishes I ever learned to make and is also one of my most favorite.  I enjoy tender chunks of pork coated in a magnificent sauce of sorts and this one is amazingly good, you will enjoy it! Try it, you will be smitten with the results and that, my friends, is the sign of being a great chef!

Yield:  four servings / Mis-en-place: 1 hour:

Sweet-and-Sour Sauce:

.25

1
Tablespoon
Peanut oil

1
Teaspoon
Minced garlic

.5
Cup
Chicken broth

1
Teaspoon
Soy sauce

The Thickening Agent:
1
Tablespoon
Cornstarch OR clear gel
PLUS
.125
Cup
Cold water

The Garnishes:
.25
Cup
Sliced waterchestnuts

.25
Cup
Julienned scallions

1
Large
Green bell pepper, stemmed, seeded, de-ribbed, cut into 1” squares
1
Each
Medium carrot, peeled and julienned

1
Cup
Bamboo shoots

1
Small
Yellow onion, julienned

Method:
1.      Mis-en-place: have everything ready with which to work! Mis-en-place: have everything ready. Heat the peanut oil in a large skillet or wok.

2.      Make the batter mixture and set aside. Dust the pork in cornstarch and then dip in the batter. Shake off excess and when your oil is hot, plunge the pork cubes into it taking care to stand back.  Cook them until golden-brown, shaking the pan to keep them moving.

3.     Combine the ingredients listed under the sauce and place over a high flame.  Combine the cold water and cornstarch or clear gel and when the sauce mixture is boiling, whisk it in and tighten the sauce.  Allow it to clear up and boil for a minute or so and then lower flame and simmer.

4.      When the pork cubes are cooked, transfer to the sauce.  Add the garnishes and combine well.  To serve, place a scoop of steamed white rice on each of four plates and spoon sweet’n’sour pork over each mound.  Accompany with a stir-fried vegetable of your choice and enjoy.

5.     Always refrigerate leftovers quickly and then store in a sanitized airtight container, which you then label, date, and cover airtight.  Use within 1-2 days for best use; after that, use it or lose it!

Who does not love sweet-and-sour pork?  This is one of the most-requested dishes in Chinese and in other oriental restaurants, of that, there is absolutely no doubt!  People love tender chunks of pork topped with a savory sweet red sauce of sorts and this one fits the bill!
Chef Murph MacDougal
There we go, that is our recipe for today and I must give a shout out to Chef Murph, the beautiful woman she is, and I thank her for allowing me to redo her dish here at the offices of the AICP-END.  We do our best here not only to enlighten you to the ways of the professional kitchen but also to provide you with the information you need so you can beat back the powers of darkness with educated answers.  Too many of our people live in dire need of training and only their employers can teach them what is right and wrong in this nation and what we need to do in order to restore it to its former glory.  Hell, we live in a nation determined to give everything BACK to illegal aliens currently swarming into our country, all I can say is the time is coming when all good citizens must lock and load!  God forbid we need to reclaim our streets but if we need to do so, then we will do whatever we must do to save our nation!

ANYWAY
As always, we have a great time around here and that is why we want all of you to become a part of the organization by submitting articles to us for inspection and full-credit.  It is a great thing if you would do this, as it is a symbiotic relationship: we give you the space to share your recipes and in return, you send us more and more people who will become dedicated followers of the AICP-END.  Currently of multi-diversity across the Internet, it is important that we hear the voices of more and more people from all walks of the foodservice profession —join us. We urge our readership to write to us, leave comments, and if there are any of you, who would care to write an article for us, please get in touch via Magnolia Hilltop Brewers, P.O. Box 20669, Bakersfield, CA 93390-0669.  We obviously do not pay anything but give YOU full byline and that, my friends, is worth its weight in gold.  We want as many people who want to write to be able to do so and we believe that by presenting a forum for our fellow chefs, we are doing something for our beloved industry.  We love diversity and hope to add new and different authors to our pantheon of chefs, food and beverage directors, and culinary professionals.  Come on and join us, it will be fun! Expect that when all of us have run through our cycle, we will be introducing some brand-new talent or so Stinky says.
OLD SONGS, NEW SONGS
We have touted the AARC Technology Company here in Bakersfield, CA, and must add the Nerds on Call.com folks.  Without them keeping our blog up-and-running, there is no telling where we would be now.  We have a great many problematic issues here at the AICP-END because even with the best security systems in the world, malware and other terrible fecal materials manage to penetrate the blogsite.  Do yourself a favor, hire the best, and note, you can have online help via a remote button on your desktop for just $25 per month!  Get in contact with the Nerds now!  Here’s another note: do NOT do business with Galkos Construction, Inc., those people are nothing but crooks as if you lease your system, you will never pay it off, plus you have to pay them for excess energy produced by your system, the electric company does not buy all of it nor do they!  AVOID GCI AT ALL COSTS; DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CROOKS!
FEARLESS
We are selling recipes all the time and you can order things you would like copies of simply by mailing us your name, address, the recipe you would like and a check for $1.00.  You can buy an entire week’s worth of recipes when we do a series simply by sending us a check or money order (no cash please!) for $20 and we will have it out to you in the next day’s mail.  Please become a part of the AICP-END by sending us your names, addresses, and information and we will welcome all of you with open arms!
BANDSTAND
To buy paintings, recipes, or full article series, please send us your information by mailing us at P.O. Box #20669, Bakersfield, CA, 93309-0669.  You can call about paintings at 661-834-5185; we will take all calls and provide to you as much information as is available.  It is time that we begin taking the next step and to immortalize Beverly Carrick for eternity and begin moving towards the establishment of a website of our own! God bless each single one of you amongst our fan base!
IT’S ONLY A MOVIE
Did you know that last week, Tuesday, October 08, 2013, the Democrats and the illegal aliens held a massive rally at the National Mall while keeping aged veterans of both World War II and Korea, as well as the Vietnam Memorial out of them?  Yes, indeed, this was the brainchild of Nancy Pelosi, the woman who wants to be the speaker of the house once again, and all I can say is that I hope the good citizens of San Francisco will throw this horrible bitch out of office next year?   If we are going to begin sweeping the dirt out of our house, we need to start with the dirtiest room and that room is California, primarily San Francisco and Los Angeles—yes, I work in L.A. but I am not proud of that fact anymore, my representatives have left me behind long ago!  Buy some CDs and leave some comments, I would be ever so appreciative and will see you tomorrow on HUMP DAY!  Bye!
BEST OF FAMILY
Anyhow, let us close with this impassioned plea—please leave some comments and/or become a follower. What's more, why not spend some money and purchase an album by Family, the Grateful Dead, the Association, the Byrds, and Spirit and/or buy a cookbook from Amazon.com—we want to make some money here so help us out by buying something!  Allied with them, we are pleased to market their merchandise!  Amazon.com is one of the greatest—if not the ultimate greatest!—online department stores in which, one can find almost everything on the planet.  We love them and they love us and we want all of you to visit them daily, take advantage of their deals on everything from kitchen equipment to cookbooks, CDs, DVDs, and everything else a person could want.  Everything you buy from them puts money into our pockets, which allows us to keep this fine blog up-and-running 24/7/365!  God bless America and God bless Amazon.com!
PEACE!
