“Educational Writings-Discourse, Part LXXXI: Summer Vacation Series 2013—the Best in Political Cartoons and the Jefferson Airplane, Part II” by Moses Scharbug III

---------------------------------------------------------
Today, we begin offering albums by Country Joe and the Fish, one of the psychedelic era’s greatest rock bands to come out of the Bay Area!  Unlike their San Francisco fellows, CJ Fish came over from Berkeley, California and their music had a lot to say about the politics of the time in the same vein as their compatriots, the Jefferson Airplane.  Their first album, “Electric Music for the Mind and Body” came out in 1967 and is still a classic to this day!  Please take the convenient link posted above, go to Amazon.com, and buy it now; you will be glad you did!

Trayvon Martin—Murdered in the Street
Bakersfield, CA, 07-16-2013 Tuesday: Alright, we are here at Tuesday, the second day of our workweek and I must say, I do not know what the hubbub was about last week when the George Zimmerman Murder Trial was ongoing and the discussion came down to ‘whether or not marijuana made Trayvon Martin go nuts.’  I am amazed at all of the people discussing the issue and saying that smoking pot does NOT make people go berserk.  I am sorry, there ARE people who get all pushed out of shape from smoking weed and do become aggressive, sometimes extremely violent.  I know for a fact that one of my kids used to smoke pot once he moved away from home and that boy had major issues with getting into fights whenever smoked a great deal of dope.  I am sorry to say that for about ten years, he went in and out of jail due to his behavior and it took him another decade before he finally was able to get off the crap.  I did the best I could to help him as did my wife and his mother but he was one of those unfortunate kids that had some anger issues that smoking pot seemed to accentuate and to actually harm.  I believe that Trayvon suffered the same issues because everything reported up to the trial stressed that the kid had anger issues, which caused his school to expel him shortly before the tragic confrontation that took his life.
Neighborhood Watchman, George Zimmerman
Now, please do not get me wrong, I do not condone what happened that night between Mr. Zimmerman and young Mr. Martin, but I do suspect that it was one of those very unfortunate events in which, two troubled individuals converged on one another.  They were brought together by fate and it’s clear that had Mr. Zimmerman followed the advice of the police, he might not be in the trouble in which, he found himself.  However, we already know—due to the testimony of the first witness—that Trayvon was angry over the “creepy cracker following him” and that he was going to waylay the man and beat him senseless.  Had Mr. Zimmerman walked away and Trayvon then attacked him—you know, go looking for him—then what Zimmerman did would have been a total upholding of the Florida law “Stand your Ground Law.”  That is not what happened, or at least at the time of this writing but it is one of those ‘brought together by fate’ issues and it went one way instead of another.  Zimmerman said that Trayvon jumped out of the bushes and beat the crap out of him and Zimmerman busted a cap on him, to use the gangbangers’ euphemistic terms.  I feel horrible for the Martin family but I also feel badly for the Zimmerman family, too, the whole debacle is very sad.  You see, I suspect that had both of these men been older, they would have had much different outlooks on how they would respond to this issue because age is what gives us the proper vision for our actions.  I mean, when I was a youngster, I did many things that most likely should have killed me and yet, I somehow managed to reach the old age I now I have.  I suspect that neither of these men would ever make the same mistakes again they made that rainy night in Florida but there is no way that we will ever have the opportunity to know that again.
Florida State Flag
Yesterday, we finally finished the Southern rock band, Little Feat, one of the unsung heroes of the early 1970’s and again when they reformed in the 1980’s sans the deceased Lowell George, slide guitar and vocalist phenom.  It is sad that Mr. George died but he did it in the way that many rock stars seem to end up doing, overdosing on drugs and alcohol.  I would love to see the current version of the band come to Bakersfield, California, at some point so we could see them again, renewing our relationship after years apart.  It is quite interesting how many bands of the long ago era currently travel about the world doing gig after gig.  Up at the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino, they recently had a phenomenal show featuring the Turtles, Mark Lindsay of Paul Revere and the Raiders’ fame, Chuck Negron of Three Dog Night, and Gary Lewis and the Playboys.  Some people you think have died or gone on to Las Vegas and then boom, the originals come back or have never left and do a great job reminding the listeners of what it was like to live in the long ago time.   My wife and I journeyed to the casino, a place we love to go and were amazed at the sounds we had not heard onstage in many, many years, I so wish that all of you could have joined us, it was a night to remember!
Local Radio Talk Show Host, Jaz McKay
I heard local radio talk show host, Jaz McKay, discussing a commercial he had seen on one of the cable networks in which, a couple at a birthing center have an ultrasound to see how their child is doing is asked by the technician, “would you like to know what you’re having?” To that, the couple says they would and the tech answers them “you’re having a lesbian.”  I agree with Mr. McKay in that this sort of propaganda is going to instill in the minds of the ignorant the idea that having a Gay child is not only adorable but a great thing, which to me is horribly sad.  Since when is having a Gay child something any couple could or would ever want to which, I say, “get that baby aborted.”  I am sorry, I do give a damn whether that comment is politically correct or it’s not as I believe that what is currently underway within our society is its absolute destruction by the far left liberal-Gay-racist agenda.  If that offends you, then please, accept my apologies but note that you are nothing more than a misguided ignorant dumbass.  Let us look at our cartoons for today, shall we?

Cartoon #146: Cartoon #146—this cartoon is a laugher as it depicts Mr. Obama with rising water surrounding him discussing how he is going to do something about the “climate issue.”  However, the cloud overhanging him is one of government leaks, which is the real problem and not the Global Warming bullcrap.  Yet, the liberals always run around like Chicken Little crying out, “the sky is falling, the sky is falling!”  I knew right from the start that the climate change issue is a bunch of hooey and that I think it is the next best way for old-style communists to remain relevant in our world today. The sooner we put these leftist smucks up against the wall, the better off our nation and in turn, the world, is going to be!

Cartoon #147: Cartoon #147—this cartoon shows a minister marrying two Gay men telling them, “You may now kiss the Supreme Court!” How true that is, the thing that should upset everyone is that the highest court in the land has now joined most of the lesser ones throughout the nation legislating from the bench rather than determining the constitutionality of the laws brought to its attention.  You see, in the past, marriage laws were in the purlieu of each state to make the laws it deemed to be appropriate for its citizens and in the case of California, in which the state’s citizens have the right to put forth ballot initiatives, the people of the state voted AGAINST same-sex marriage.  Lo and behold, what did the Supreme Court do but to overrule the will of the people and knocked down the law much to the anger of the people of the state.  We have lost the freedom that we once so cherished and which, now is being remolded and remade much to the ire of the people—I believe revolution is coming!

Cartoon #148: Cartoon #148—this cartoon depicts both Democrats and Republicans picking apples and oranges—two fruits quite different from one another—into the basket of immigration reform meaning that both sides are approaching the problem from way different sides.  I think that both parties have determined that they are going after the votes of illegals but the problem is this: one side has the votes already and the other will never get them no matter what it does.

Cartoon #149: Cartoon #149—this cartoon shows how the Founders would have fared in President Obama’s America rather than in the time in which, they created and passed the Constitution.  Here, a representative from the Internal Revenue Service appears at the Constitutional Convention telling them, “I hear there’s a bunch of patriots here.”  That is all it took to rate overzealous IRS scrutiny—having the name “patriot” in their name—and it’s clear to one and all that had Mr. Obama been running the nation back then, there never would have been the Constitution we hold so dear to our hearts.  How horrible is that, my friends?  However, the part that is even worse is that it has taken only forty-four presidents and less than 300 years to bring about a drastic and fundamental set of changes to the nation; will it make it to its 300th birthday?  I doubt it!

Cartoon #150: Cartoon #150—apparently, the mosquitoes are bad this year or the cartoonist had nothing better to do than to make this inane cartoon.  I would love to see more of the far left liberal cartoonists go after their great leader as if this man ever fully realizes his ultimate potential, our nation might disappear beneath the waves forever.  We are living in very dangerous times and the fact that it coincides with this man in office and the increase in digital spying technology, willing helpers in the government, and overbearing tax agencies crushing the people does not bode well for the future of our country.  Prepare yourselves, the time to fight is coming soon!

The National Security Administration
The Jefferson Airplane
That is it for the cartoons for one day, let’s jump to the musical selections we advertise here on a daily basis and have since the very first day the blog opened its doors!   I have chosen to present the Jefferson Airplane, as among my personal favorites and here is the second set of FIVE albums:

VI.              Sunday, 04-10-2011: “Volunteers”:  1969—this album came out prior to the band’s appearance at the Woodstock Arts and Music Festival and marked the end of the most-well-known lineup of the band.  After this year’s concerts came to an end, vocalist Marty Balin abandoned the group. The band had split into two separate groups, Paul Kantner and Grace Slick on one side and Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Cassidy on the other.  Drummer Spencer Dryden also left the band after the year ended due to being burnt out with what had happened at the Rolling Stones’ disastrous Altamont Speedway Concert that ended the year 1969.  However, the music on this CD is definitely among the best the band ever did and the fact that pianist Nicky Hopkins came over from the Quicksilver Messenger Service to lend a hand made the album that much better.  I always loved this album and suggest to everyone as a must-own CD!

VII.          Monday, 04-11-2011: “Bark”:  1971—after the band had a bit of a hiatus and which released only one single in 1970, “Have You seen the Saucers?” backed with “Mexico,” the band came roaring back with a somewhat different lineup.  Joey Covington joined the band as the drummer as well as violinist Papa John Creech, giving the band an amazingly different yet even more psychedelic sound.  Paul Kantner was the undisputed leader, he pushed the group into a science fiction style of rock and roll, and this album blazed the way ahead although it also marked some major differences between the band’s two poles.   However, the problems that would eventually push the band over the edge were not quite as apparent as they would be on the group’s follow-up album.  Please buy this one by going to the previous day (remember: we post at 11:59 p.m. every night!), use the link we provide you so you can to Amazon.com and buy it! You definitely will be glad you did!

VIII.            Tuesday, 04-12-2011: “Long John Silver”: 1972—the final studio album released by the Airplane came out in 1972 and features the band divided into two camps with a new drummer, John Barbata of the Turtles, and David Freiberg of Quicksilver as a vocalist in place of the departed Marty Balin.  I loved this album as I do the previous one and yet, this was the swan song for a band that should have gone on for as long as the Grateful Dead but sadly did not.  After this, the Jefferson Starship would replace the Airplane and Hot Tuna featuring Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Cassidy became a major band.  Good stuff, however, I highly urge all of you to pick this one up, it’s that good!

IX.              Wednesday, 04-13-2011: “Worst of the Jefferson Airplane.:  1970—always a trendsetter, the band put out a “best of” package in 1970 besides the earlier aforementioned single entitled “Worst Of.”  Well, it is NOT the worst of the band, it is their best work to date plus one or two more.  If you have never had the opportunity to hear the Jefferson Airplane, this is a good place in which, to listen to them!

X.                 Thursday, 04-14-2011: “Last Flight”:  1974—was the band’s final concert and it was a good one. It is sad when you hear a band and realize how good they are and then hear that they gave up the fight and have broken up, it is terribly sad.  Then again, no one outside the group has any idea of the power plays, the negativity, and the personnel issues that tear a band apart.  Good album from a great time!
California Democrat Governor Jerry Brown
We have had a great summer together so far and the one thing I want all of you to take away from this blog is the danger into which, the President has sent our nation.  Now, in California, as soon as the governor signs these laws allowing little boys who think they are girls to use the girls’ locker rooms, bathrooms, and anything else sexually separated on any given day.  At the time of the writing, we are awaiting him to sign the gender-bender bill, which I am sure by the time you read this post has already been done.  Anyone remember the Kinks’ song, “Lola,” the one in which, “Girls will be boys, and boys will be girls, it’s a mixed-up, muddled-up, shook up world?”  I cannot figure out how we have arrived at this point in our history, other nations have to be looking at us and thinking, “What the hell has happened to them?”  It has nothing to do with ‘Gay rights,’ it has to do with pervert rights as the males among the school population who like girls are all going to become girls so they can enter the girls’ locker rooms and torment them.  Our nation has gone off the deep end and if anyone f---s with my great grand daughters, you can bet, I will bring a lawsuit down on them that is going to destroy them! Again, I say, “enough is enough!  We need to have sanity return to our country and not have this Steven King-like state of mind take us over, somewhere, it has to end!

We have touted the AARC Technology Company here in Bakersfield, CA, and must add the Nerds on Call.com folks.  Without them keeping our blog up-and-running, there is no telling where we would be now.  We have a great many problematic issues here at the AICP-END because even with the best security systems in the world, malware and other terrible fecal materials manage to penetrate the blogsite.  Do yourself a favor, hire the best, and note, you can have online help via a remote button on your desktop for just $25 per month!  Get in contact with the Nerds now!  Here’s another note: do NOT do business with Galkos Construction, Inc., those people are nothing but crooks as if you lease your system, you will never pay it off, plus you have to pay them for excess energy produced by your system, the electric company does not buy all of it nor do they!  AVOID GCI AT ALL COSTS; DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CROOKS!
