IN MEMORIAM OF ROBERT “BOB” WELCH

The Elemental News of the Day—Culinary Politics would like to express sadness over the recent passing of Robert “Bob” Welch, born August 31, 1945 and died due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest on June 06, 2012.  The editors and authors of the Elemental News of the Day are saddened by his passing as we remember the days when he fronted Fleetwood Mac, in the period prior to the breakthrough success in 1977-1978.

He was the innovative and creative guitarist who greatly improved the albums upon which, he played with the band, “Future Games,” “Bare Trees,” “Penguin,” “Mystery to Me,” and “Heroes are hard to find.”  His vocals, his guitar work, his wildly masterful songwriting made the band of the period exemplary.  He also excelled in his underrated solo efforts with his band, Paris,” putting out two great albums, “Paris,” and “Big Towne 2061” before going solo.  He went on to solo fame and it’s a tragedy that Mick Fleetwood would be as unkind as to prevent his entry into the Rock-and-Roll Hall of Fame.

Rest in Peace, Bob, you will be missed.  God bless you and your wife, Wendy.  We will see you when we arrive on the other side.
